Mrs. Surface

Mrs. Surface is in her 21st year teaching elementary music. Mrs. Surface has taught at Ridgeview since its opening in 2011 when she moved from the Early Learning Center. She has also taught in Birdville ISD and Waxahachie ISD.  Mrs. Surface earned a Bachelor of Music Education with oboe emphasis from Baylor University and a Master of Music Education from Texas Tech University. Mrs. Surface is a Hudson Transformation Grant Recipient, a two-time Keller Education Foundation Grant Recipient, a three-time Texas Music Educators Association Grant Recipient, and the 2017-18 Ridgeview Elementary Teacher of the Year. In addition to maintaining a small, private oboe studio, Mrs. Surface plays principal oboe in a local community orchestra. She loves spending time with her family, reading, singing karaoke and attending concerts.
